The Bare Bones

Updated: Jul 11, 2021

When thinking of prepping for an uncertain climate future, sometimes it is good to focus on the bare bones. Sure it is great to have large stores of dried foods, a base camp, and other items like fire starters, camp fuel, tools and seeds (more on seeds in my next post) but in the event of needing to be minimalist or to be mobile, thinking about the bare bones is a great tool to have in your arsenal.

The bare bones -

When I think about the bare bones, I think calories, water, vitamins and caffeine.

I think I have come up with a pretty good solution that covers these bases.

Calories -

Chia Seeds. Small, filling, nutrient packed seeds that are light, store extremely well and is a good source of calories.

Water -

When it comes to cleaning water in a light weight portable package, I like the Life Straw.

It comes with a bottle option as well.

Vitamins -

While Chia Seeds are nutrient dense, I think Moringa goes well with them to have great nutrition in an easy travel package.

Caffeine -

While you could use instant coffee, a much better choice in my opinion is matcha powder.

Better for you in the long run as well.

Bottom line -

The above ingredients can all be put into a blender bottle, shaken up, and drank very easily.

Providing you with all you need for on the go survival nutrition.

And that's the bare bones of it.
